Description: Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire was painted in 1785-1787 by Thomas Gainsborough. It is now in the collection of the National Gallery of Art, Washington. This portrait was commissioned by Georgiana’s husband, William Cavendish, 5th Duke of Devonshire. It is one of the most famous portraits of the 18th century.
