Description: The Education of Marie de’ Medici is a series of 21 paintings by Peter Paul Rubens that were commissioned by Marie de’ Medici, the second wife of King Henry IV of France, to commemorate her life and the life of her husband. The paintings were completed between 1622 and 1625 and were originally displayed in the Luxembourg Palace in Paris. The series depicts events from Marie’s life, including her birth, her marriage to Henry IV, and the birth of their children.
