Description: George Lionel Dawson-Damer (1788-1856) was the second son of John Dawson, 1st Earl of Portarlington. He joined the army as an ensign in the 6th Foot in 1804, and served in the Peninsular War and at Waterloo. He retired from the army in 1826 with the rank of lieutenant-colonel.
