Description: Thomas Cartwright (1535-1603) was an Unknown Puritan divine. He was educated at St John’s College, Cambridge, where he became a fellow in 1559. He was one of the leaders of the Puritan movement in the Church of England and was deprived of his fellowship in 1570 for his nonconformist views. He spent the rest of his life in exile in Antwerp and Middelburg.
