Description: This portrait of Elizabeth Stuart was painted in 1642 by Gerrit van Honthorst. She was the daughter of James I of England and Anne of Denmark and was married to Frederick V, Elector Palatine. She was known as the “Winter Queen” because she was forced to flee Bohemia after only one winter there.
