Description: The Fall of Phaeton is a drawing by the Italian Renaissance artist Raphael. It is a preparatory drawing for a fresco in the Villa Farnesina in Rome. The fresco was commissioned by the banker Agostino Chigi and depicts the story of Phaeton, who was the son of the sun god Helios. Phaeton asked his father to let him drive his chariot for a day, but he lost control and crashed to earth.
