Description: This painting depicts the story of King Solomon, who was known for his wisdom. Two women came before him, each claiming to be the mother of a baby. Solomon ordered a sword to be brought, and said that the baby should be cut in two, with each woman receiving half. The real mother immediately begged Solomon to give the baby to the other woman, rather than see it harmed. Solomon then knew that she was the true mother, and gave her the child.
