Description: General Gabriel Christie (1722-1796) was a British military officer and politician who served in the American Revolutionary War. He was a member of the New Jersey Legislative Council from 1776 to 1777 and served as a brigadier general in the Continental Army from 1777 to 1783. Christie was a Loyalist and remained in New Jersey after the war. He was elected to the New Jersey General Assembly in 1784 and served as a delegate to the Continental Congress in 1785.
