Description: Giuseppe Bernardino Bison (1762-1844) was an Italian painter and engraver. He was born in Padua and studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti there. He later moved to Rome, where he became a member of the Accademia di San Luca. Bison is best known for his historical paintings, which are characterized by their strong sense of drama and movement. This work is now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
