Description: Donato Bramante’s design for the facade of the church of San Lorenzo in Milan was based on the plan of an ancient Roman temple. The facade was to be divided into two stories, with the lower story featuring Corinthian pilasters and the upper story featuring Ionic pilasters. The facade was to be crowned by a triangular pediment.
