Description: This is a chiaroscuro drawing by Biagio Pupini after the painting by Raphael. The drawing is in pen and brown ink and wash, heightened with white gouache, over black chalk. It is a preparatory drawing for a print. The composition is divided into two registers. In the upper register, Christ is shown with outstretched arms, flanked by Moses and Elijah. In the lower register, the apostles are shown reacting to the Transfiguration.
