Description: Karl Friedrich Abel (1723-1787) was a German-born gambist and composer who spent most of his career in England. He was a friend of Johann Christian Bach and performed in many of his concerts. He also played in the orchestras of the King’s Theatre and the Concert of Ancient Music.
