Description: The Wilton Diptych is a small portable diptych, painted on two oak panels. It is the earliest surviving Unknown panel painting, dating to around 1395-1410. The left panel shows King Richard II of England kneeling before the Virgin Mary and the infant Jesus. In the right panel, an angel holds the royal shield of England.
