Description: This is a pen and brown ink drawing over black chalk. The Allegorical Figure of Peace is a preparatory drawing for a fresco by Maratti in the Palazzo Altieri in Rome. The fresco was part of a series of four lunettes depicting theYu Yi of the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle (1668), which ended the War of Devolution.
