Description: This is a preparatory drawing by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo for the ceiling fresco of the Palazzo Barbarigo, in Venice. The fresco was painted in 1744 and depicts Juno, the Roman goddess of marriage and childbirth, distributing her gifts to mankind. The drawing is in pen and brown ink with brown wash, heightened with white gouache, over black chalk.
