Description: This is a preparatory drawing for a ceiling fresco in the Palazzo Labia in Venice. The fresco was commissioned by the Labia family to celebrate the birth of their son, Angelo, in 1746. The painting shows the personification of the month of April, a young woman crowned with flowers, seated on a cloud and holding a cornucopia from which spring flowers. She is surrounded by putti, or cherubs, who play with rabbits and other animals.
