Description: The Donne Triptych is a triptych oil painting by the Early Netherlandish painter Hans Memling. It was painted in 1478 and is now in the Gemaldegalerie Alte Meister in Dresden, Germany. The central panel shows the Virgin and Child enthroned, with two angels making music and two female saints, one of whom is identified as Catherine of Alexandria. The left wing shows the donor, Sir John Donne, kneeling in prayer, accompanied by his patron saint, John the Baptist. The right wing shows Donne’s wife, Elizabeth, and their two daughters, Margaret and Anne.
