Description: The painting depicts the scene where Achilles is discovered among the daughters of Lycomedes. Achilles was the son of Peleus and Thetis, and was the greatest warrior of the Trojan War. He was hidden among the daughters of Lycomedes, the king of Scyros, in an attempt to prevent him from going to war. However, Odysseus and Diomedes, two of the Greek leaders, discovered Achilles and convinced him to join the war.
