Description: Stanislaw August Poniatowski was the last king of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. He was elected in 1764 with the support of Catherine the Great of Russia. His reign was marked by political instability and the partitions of Poland by Russia, Prussia, and Austria. He abdicated in 1795 and died in exile in St. Petersburg in 1798.
