Description: The painting depicts the Greek myth of Daedalus and Icarus. Daedalus, an Athenian craftsman, and his son Icarus were imprisoned in the Labyrinth. They escaped by crafting wings from feathers and wax. Icarus ignored his father’s warnings and flew too close to the sun, causing the wax to melt and him to fall to his death.
