Description: This is a preparatory drawing for a fresco by the Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci. The fresco depicts the Battle of Anghiari, which took place in 1440 between the Florentines and the Milanese. The drawing shows two soldiers, one wearing a helmet and the other bareheaded. The soldier with the helmet is believed to be Niccolo da Tolentino, the leader of the Florentine army.
