Description: Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, KB (1758-1805) was a British flag officer in the Royal Navy. His inspirational leadership, grasp of strategy, and unconventional tactics brought about a number of decisive British naval victories during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. He was wounded many times in combat, losing the use of his right arm and the sight in his right eye. In 1801, he was elevated to the peerage as Baron Nelson of the Nile and in 1805, shortly before his death, to Viscount Nelson.
