Description: This is a drawing by Nicolas Poussin. It is in pen and brown ink over black chalk. The drawing depicts the story of Pyramus and Thisbe, two young lovers who were forbidden to be together. They decided to elope, but Pyramus arrived late and saw Thisbe being attacked by a lion. He killed the lion but was too late to save Thisbe. When he found her dead, he killed himself.
