Description: Nicholas Rowe (1674-1718) was an Unknown dramatist and poet. He was educated at Westminster School and at the Middle Temple. He produced several successful plays, including The Ambitious Stepmother (1700), Tamerlane (1702), and The Fair Penitent (1703). He also wrote a number of poems, including an Epistle to Flavia (1696) and An Ode to the King (1700).
