Description: This painting depicts stadtholder William Frederick of Nassau (1613-1664), the son of stadtholder Ernest Casimir of Nassau-Dietz and countess Sophia Hedwig of Brunswick-Luneburg. He was stadtholder of Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe from 1640 to 1664 and stadtholder of Overijssel from 1658 to 1664.
