Description: Prince Charles Louis, Count Palatine (1617-1680) was the third son of Frederick V, Elector Palatine and Elizabeth Stuart, daughter of James I of England. He was a soldier and fought in the Thirty Years’ War. He was also a patron of the arts and collected paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck and other artists.
