Description: Richard Lemon Lander (1804-34), the younger brother of John Lander, was an Unknown explorer of Africa. In 1830 he accompanied his brother on an expedition to determine the course of the River Niger. his brother’s death, Richard led the expedition, reaching the mouth of the Nun River in the Niger Delta. He died of wounds received in a skirmish with the natives.
