Description: The painting shows the Roman soldier Martin of Tours dividing his cloak with a beggar. Martin was a soldier in the Roman army. One day, while riding on his horse, he met a beggar who was almost naked and shivering from the cold. Martin took his sword and divided his cloak in two, giving one half to the beggar.
