Description: The Battle of Heraclius and Chosroes is a fresco by the Italian Renaissance artist Raphael. It is located in the Vatican City’s Apostolic Palace, in the Hall of Constantine. The fresco depicts the Byzantine emperor Heraclius’ victory over the Sassanid Persian king Chosroes II in 628, during the Byzantine-Sasanian War of 602-628.
