Description: The painting depicts the conversion of Saul of Tarsus, who was struck blind by a vision of Jesus Christ while traveling to Damascus. Saul, who later became known as Paul, was traveling with a group of soldiers when he was suddenly surrounded by a bright light and heard the voice of Jesus. The soldiers with Saul were also struck to the ground, but they did not see Jesus.
