Description: The Fire in the Borgo is a fresco by the Italian Renaissance artist Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, painted in 1514. The fresco is located in the Stanza dell’Incendio del Borgo, one of the four Raphael Rooms in the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City. The painting depicts a scene from the life of Pope Leo IV, who extinguished a fire in the Borgo district of Rome with a miraculous gesture.
