Description: The Fire in the Borgo is a fresco by the Italian Renaissance artist Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, painted in 1514 as part of his decoration of the Stanza dell’Incendio del Borgo in the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City. The fresco depicts a scene from the life of Pope Leo IV, who, according to tradition, extinguished a fire in the Borgo district of Rome with a single blessing.
