Description: The Mass of Bolsena is a fresco by the Italian Renaissance artist Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, painted in 1512. It is located in the Stanza di Eliodoro, in the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City. The fresco depicts the miracle that occurred in Bolsena in 1263, when a priest was celebrating Mass and doubted the doctrine of transubstantiation. At the moment of consecration, the host began to bleed, and the priest’s doubts were dispelled.
