Description: The painting depicts the moment when Jesus Christ raises Jairus’s daughter from the dead. Jairus, a synagogue leader, kneels at Jesus’ feet and pleads for him to save his daughter. Jesus, accompanied by his disciples, enters the house and takes the girl’s hand, saying, “Talitha koum,” which means “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” The girl immediately gets up and walks around, to the amazement of those present.
