He is shown as a young man with long, flowing hair and a wreath of grape leaves on his head. In his right hand, he holds a cup of wine, and in his left hand, he holds a bunch of grapes. A young woman, possibly a maenad, is seated on the ground next to him, holding a thyrsus, a staff topped with a pine cone, which is often associated with Bacchus.
